Hello everybody, how are you today? I’m in the middle of my “working” week in Nový Jičín. I told you that I’ll be on internship this week, so I would like to tell you little bit more about it. I chose Tonak! As I’m creating my own hats and now also working on my collection I wanted to improve my hat skills and I also wanted to see, how it works in such a big hat company. I’m just so excited to be here!! I spent Monday and Tuesday at a section, where they work with semifinished felt. I tried brush, wax, iron or stiffen the hats. As a first I made one hat in more industrial way. I used iron form and press to create the corpus of the hat (it’s dry and arm method). My second hat was made in the way which is more familiar to me. I used wet and warm felt, to get the shape of the corpus I used wooden hat form. Today I should spend some time in decorative room, to finish my hats. I’m still not really sure what I will do on Thursday and Friday, but can’t wait to try all the new things!!
